THE BEAUTY OF GAMES, NOT TO WIN BUT PARTICIPATE... AJAYI

The Provost, Dr Adetayo Ayodele Ajayi had on Tuesday 3rd March, 2020 at the Inter house Sports competition of FCE Abeokuta Model Secondary School held at the College field, stated that the beauty of games was not to win but to participate.

Dr Ajayi made this assertion while declaring the School’s inter house sports competition opened. He noted that at the end of the game, any group that loses should accept it in good faith saying that the most important thing was that they all participated.

The Chairman of the Board, Mrs S.I.C. Iwuagwu and the Principal Mr D.O Adaralegbe in their separate addresses appreciated God who had made that day a reality noting that there was need for recreational periods so that everything would not be restricted to classroom. They added that, since inception, FCE Abeokuta Model Secondary School had always stood out among peers and excelled in their Educational pursuits. According to them, a good example was when Itunu Ojesola, an SS1 student, distinguished herself in the just concluded National jet competition and won several medals for the School. They therefore appreciated parents for their usual understanding and support both financially and morally which had in no small measure taken the School to its enviable height.

At the end of the competition, Blue House came first; Yellow House came second while 3rd and 4th positions went to Red and Green Houses respectively.

Highlight of the Inter house competition included inter - schools relay competition for both male and female students from neighbouring Schools. For the female race, Deeper Life High School came first while FUNNIS and Faith Heritage Secondary Schools came second and third respectively. In the male category, Apostolic Faith Secondary came first while FUNNIS and Deeper Life High School came second and third respectively. Other events were Parents’ race for both men and women.
